My name is Caroline (she/her) and I am a registered clinical counsellor in British Columbia.
I am originally from the UK but have spent much of my adult life in Canada. For the past 15 years I have lived in North Vancouver. I have four children ranging in age from late teens to early twenties. Several years ago I went through a divorce and during that process I also came out as lesbian. The changes and challenges I went though at that time inform my work in countless ways.
ABOUT ME
I originally studied Russian and French, as well as art history, and went on to complete a masters in counselling after becoming a parent. Although I now work only in private practice, I greatly enjoyed my time in community counselling, most recently at the Canadian Mental Health Association in North Vancouver. My work is informed by a number of different counselling theories and practices, including Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am committed to on-going professional development and have recently completed training in ACT and in the treatment of trauma.
I am a voracious reader and enjoy pottering with my art supplies. Living in North Vancouver allows me to spend a lot of time outdoors in the forest, which I love. Otherwise I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
